This is a very visible, key role!
Our client is launching a major effort to re-design their primary enterprise systems, and needs a database architect to lead the data component.
Your role:,
Provide data systems engineering and integration, employing
best-practice architecture methods. Emphasize data strategy interoperability
across operational systems.
Work as an individual contributor, lead tasks and provide technical
leadership on corporate projects. Stay abreast of emerging trends in information architectures and help shape customer's deliverables discussions.
Design and implement complex, multi-component information
architectures with resource efficiency and re-usability. Responsible for overall architecture of the database management strategy and systems design resulting in high availability, well-performing systems that are flexible and robust.
Responsibilities will also include developing standards, procedures,
best practices and policies including, but not limited to replication techniques, data recovery and integrity controls. Capacity planning, modeling, conducting design reviews, mentoring of staff members, triage
assistance, identify risks and developing remediation plans are also key functions of this critical job function. |
Requirements:
|
The ideal candidate:
Is a true professional, able to understand the big picture of the business, and how its data is utilized.
Possesses technical strengths in both Microsoft and/or Oracle.
Experienced with data modeling tools, such as Erwin.
Has designed and supported enterprise level databases and worked with data warehouse projects.
Creates and maintains clusters, edits indexes, collaborates with ETL/SSIS interface resources and performs installations and upgrades.
5 or more years experience as a DBA
Preferable, experience with Veritas, Unix, SQL 2005 and/or Oracle 10g |
